Rewa, Oct 31: Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi announced on Friday that ‘Operation Sindoor,’ initiated against Pakistan in May of this year, is still ongoing, with a decision on its conclusion to be made at an appropriate time. He emphasized the Indian Armed Forces’ readiness for “Operation Sindoor 2.0,” stating, “When three close friends-Air Marshal AP Singh, Naval Chief Tripathi, and I-are leading, no one can defeat us.”
Addressing concerns about Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, General Dwivedi remarked that the operation would cease when the time is right. “We are fully prepared for Operation Sindoor 2.0, and should Pakistan commit any cowardly act, we will respond decisively,” he stated during his visit to Sainik School in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh.
Accompanying him was Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, the Indian Navy Chief, who was a classmate of General Dwivedi at Sainik School. They participated in an event celebrating ‘Unity Day.’ Reflecting on his school days, General Dwivedi expressed to IANS, “Every time I return here, I feel like a child again, just as I did when I first entered this school. Though many things have changed, our determination and commitment to serve the nation remain unchanged.”
Admiral Tripathi, visiting Sainik School for the first time as Chief of Naval Staff, shared fond memories of his time there. He advised students, “Put in hard work and leave the rest to God. There is no shortcut to success.”
Both General Dwivedi and Admiral Tripathi, who were classmates in the early 1970s, now hold leading positions in the Indian Army and Navy, respectively. Their journey from schoolmates to service chiefs exemplifies their dedication and the quality of training they received. In the 1970s, they were in class 5A at Sainik School Rewa, assigned roll numbers 931 and 938. Established to prepare boys for entry into the National Defence Academy, the school has a proud legacy of developing future military leaders.
