Dr. D. Nageshwar Reddy, Chairman of AIG Hospitals in Hyderabad, has been selected as a member of a newly-formed National Task Force aimed at establishing safety protocols for doctors across India. The announcement was made by Chief Justice of India, D.Y. Chandrachud, during a Supreme Court hearing concerning the rape and murder of a doctor at RG Kar Medical College Hospital in Kolkata on August 20, 2024.
The task force includes notable figures in the medical industry, emphasizing the importance and urgency of the issue. Alongside Dr. Reddy, the task force comprises Vice Admiral Arti Sarian, Director General of Medical Services (Indian Navy); Dr. M. Srinivas, Director of AIIMS Delhi; Dr. Pratima Murthy, Director of NIMHANS Bangalore; Dr. Goverdhan Dutt Puri, Executive Director of AIIMS Jodhpur; Dr. Sowmitra Rawat, Managing Member of Sri Ganga Ram Hospital; and Dr. Anita Saxena, Vice-Chancellor of Pandit B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences.
