Trump’s Bold Claim: The Man Who Averted a Nuclear Catastrophe Between India and Pakistan!
Former President Donald Trump has claimed once again that his intervention played a crucial role in preventing a potential nuclear conflict between India and Pakistan. During a bilateral meeting with South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol on Monday, Trump stated that escalating tensions between the two nations had led to seven fighter jets being shot down-an increase from his earlier assertion of five. He elaborated that he employed trade pressure to de-escalate the situation.
“I have stopped all of these wars. A big one would have been India and Pakistan,” Trump remarked, emphasizing the gravity of the conflict. He noted, “The war with India and Pakistan was the next level that was going to be a nuclear war.” According to Trump, he warned both nations that trade agreements would be halted if hostilities did not cease. “They said, ‘Well, there’s no more war going on.’ I used that on numerous occasions,” he added, further stressing his diplomatic efforts.
Earlier this year, Trump had mentioned the India-Pakistan conflict, stating that five fighter jets were shot down before a ceasefire was reached. However, he did not specify which country’s aircraft were involved. The recent claim of “seven jets” coincides with a statement from Indian Air Force Chief Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh, who confirmed that India downed at least five Pakistani fighter jets during a military operation.
Air Chief Marshal Singh, in an address on August 10, elaborated on the successful Operation Sindoor, stating, “We have at least five fighters confirmed kills and one large aircraft, which could be either an ELINT (Electronic Intelligence) aircraft or an AEW&C (Airborne Early Warning and Control) aircraft.” He highlighted that this incident marked the largest recorded surface-to-air kill, confirming the strategic success of Indian military operations.
Singh also provided details about specific targets, noting the destruction of command and control centers and several radar systems during the operation. He emphasized that political will was a significant factor contributing to the success of the mission, saying, “There was very clear political will and very clear directions given to us. No restrictions were put on us.” He attributed the coordination and effectiveness of the operation to synchronized efforts among the armed forces and the pivotal role played by leadership.
On May 7, India launched Operation Sindoor in response to a terror attack in Pahalgam, where 26 individuals were killed. Indian forces targeted terror infrastructure in both Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, leading to significant losses for terrorist organizations.
Trump’s claims and the Indian Air Force’s statements highlight the increasingly complex dynamics between India and Pakistan, underscoring the potential for military engagement in a region already fraught with tension. As global stakeholders continue to monitor the situation, the historical context of these claims remains essential for understanding the evolving geopolitical landscape in South Asia.
