Infosys Posts Impressive Rs 69.21 Billion Earnings, Salil Parekh’s Remarks Spark Excitement
Infosys Ltd reported an impressive 8.7% year-on-year increase in net profit for the June quarter, significantly exceeding expectations. The company’s consolidated net profit reached ₹6,921 crore for the April–June quarter of FY2025-26, up from ₹6,368 crore during the same period last year. This growth comes alongside a revised full-year revenue guidance, which has been adjusted to a range of 1% to 3%, improved from the previous forecast of 0% to 3%.
Revenue from operations increased by 7.53% year-on-year to ₹42,279 crore, representing a 3.3% rise quarter-on-quarter. This growth is attributed to strong performances in artificial intelligence and substantial deal wins. However, net profit experienced a sequential decline of 1.5% compared to the January-March quarter. Salil Parekh, CEO and Managing Director of Infosys, highlighted that the Q1 performance reflects the company’s robust enterprise AI capabilities, successful client consolidations, and the commitment of over 300,000 employees. The company’s large deal wins totaled USD 3.8 billion, showcasing its distinct competitive position and strong client relationships.
During a media briefing on the Q1 earnings call, Parekh expressed optimism regarding the financial year’s beginning. He cited leadership in enterprise AI and success in client consolidations as growth drivers. Demand for AI agents remains strong, indicating a positive market outlook.
Geographically, North America contributed 56.5% of quarterly revenue, a decrease from 58.9% in the previous fiscal year. In contrast, Europe’s share rose to 31.5%, up from 28.4% in the first quarter of FY25. Infosys CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka noted that the company’s strategic investments in Europe over recent years have paid off, providing a solid foundation across multiple sectors. Despite this growth in Europe, the U.S. continues to represent the largest market for Infosys. The total contract value of large deals stood at USD 3.8 billion, reflecting ongoing success in securing significant projects.
