Record-Breaking Devotee Count Surpasses 300,000 in Just 17 Days!
The annual 38-day Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, which began on the 3rd of this month, is currently taking place peacefully from two routes: the Nunwan Pahalgam Base Camp in Anantnag district and the Baltal Base Camp in Ganderbal district. This spiritual pilgrimage will conclude on August 9, coinciding with the festival of Raksha Bandhan.
In the first 17 days of the Yatra, over 300,000 pilgrims, known as Yatris, have visited the Holy Cave to pay their respects to the Shiv Lingam. Travelers from across the country have expressed their satisfaction with the arrangements and facilities provided, alongside the multi-tier security measures implemented along both routes leading to the Holy Cave.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha remarked that surpassing the three-lakh mark is a deeply enriching experience for devotees on this sacred journey. He offered prayers for peace and solace for all participants.
Additionally, the 18th batch of 4,388 Yatris departed from the Bhagwati Nagar Jammu Base Camp early this morning, arriving safely at their designated Base Camps in the Kashmir region. These Yatri convoys travel under stringent security protocols along the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway to ensure their safe passage.
The ongoing Yatra exemplifies a significant cultural and spiritual event, reflecting the unity and devotion of participants from various backgrounds across India.
