Transformative Healthcare: 170 Manipur Students Thrive at Assam Rifles Tamenglong Camp
A total of 170 students, including many girls, benefited from a medical camp organized by the Assam Rifles at the Eklavya Model Residential School in Tamenglong, Manipur. This initiative aimed to provide essential healthcare services and medical check-ups, enhancing the students’ well-being and promoting awareness about preventive healthcare practices.
According to a statement, Medical Officers from the Assam Rifles conducted general screenings for the students, identifying and addressing common health issues. Medications were administered on-site, and guidance for follow-up care was also provided.
A special session on menstrual hygiene and sanitation was conducted specifically for girls. This session aimed to break the stigma surrounding menstrual health and encourage safe practices. The interactive lecture succeeded in raising awareness and urged students to prioritize personal hygiene while seeking timely medical advice.
The medical camp received positive feedback from both the school administration and the local community, who appreciated the Assam Rifles’ ongoing commitment to the region’s holistic development. This initiative reflects Assam Rifles’ motto of being the “Sentinels of the NorthEast,” extending their role beyond security to make a meaningful impact through civic action and outreach.
Earlier today, the Assam Rifles also held a medical camp and a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) awareness session in Nagaland. The event at Old Thewati village in Meluri District provided crucial healthcare services to 90 villagers, aged between 3 and 65 years. Medical experts from Assam Rifles offered consultations and distributed necessary medications to address various health concerns.
In addition to medical support, participants received focused lectures and hands-on demonstrations on CPR and First Aid, equipping residents with vital skills to respond effectively during medical emergencies and enhancing the village’s overall health readiness.
Meanwhile, on July 18, the Manipur Police detained an active cadre of the PREPAK group at Leimaram Lamkhai along Tiddim Road, identified as Leichombam Ajitkumar Singh. He was allegedly involved in extortion activities targeting government employees, businessmen, and educational institutions. Authorities confiscated a white Maruti Suzuki Fronx Delta car, a mobile phone, and an Airtel SIM card from his possession.
