Assam Police successfully repatriated eight undocumented migrants to Bangladesh early this morning, July 10. Among those pushed back were five Bangladeshi nationals and three Rohingya individuals. This operation took place in the Cachar and Sribhumi regions, which are situated near the international border.
Senior officials reported that these individuals had entered Assam without proper documentation and were living illegally within the state. Their presence was deemed a potential threat to local demographics and security. In response, authorities reiterated their strong commitment to safeguarding Assam’s identity and territorial integrity.
“Illegal infiltrators will not be allowed to stay in Assam or threaten the state’s unique identity,” emphasized the officials. This statement underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to control illegal immigration.
