Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil today, marking the fourth stop on his five-nation tour. His main objective during this visit is to participate in the 17th BRICS Summit.
At the Summit, Modi is set to engage in discussions on significant global issues. These topics include the reform of global governance, peace and security, the strengthening of multilateralism, responsible artificial intelligence usage, climate action, global health, and economic and financial matters. The Prime Minister is also expected to hold several bilateral meetings alongside the main events of the Summit.
Following the Summit, Modi will travel to Brasilia where he plans to have bilateral talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Their discussions will focus on expanding the Strategic Partnership between India and Brazil in various areas of mutual interest. Key topics will include trade, defense, energy, space, technology, agriculture, health, and enhancing people-to-people connections.
