Swift Action Promised: LG Manoj Sinha Vows Protection for Citizens Amid Pakistan’s Aggression in J-K

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reassured citizens on Wednesday that the government is committed to ensuring their safety following intense artillery and mortar shelling by the Pakistan Army on villages along the Line of Control (LoC). Sinha emphasized that the administration is fully prepared to handle the escalating situation.

In a series of tweets, Sinha detailed that he has assessed the situation across the Union Territory’s border districts and is maintaining close oversight. “Took stock of the situation in border districts of J&K UT with all the senior administrative, police & district officials including DCs of all the border districts. I’m closely monitoring the situation, and the government is fully prepared to deal with any eventuality,” he tweeted.

The LG also announced that residents from vulnerable regions will be relocated to safer areas to ensure their protection. “I’ve also directed the DCs for shifting of villagers from vulnerable areas to safer locations and ensuring boarding, lodging, food, medicare, and transportation,” Sinha wrote. He added, “We will ensure the safety of every citizen. Jai Hind!”

These hostilities from Pakistani forces followed India’s recent missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, part of ‘Operation Sindoor.’ This marks the 13th ceasefire violation by Pakistan since the Pahalgam terror attack, which resulted in 26 fatalities.

According to PTI, the recent shelling led to seven deaths, including a woman and two children, while injuring 38 others. The Poonch district was the hardest hit, reporting all seven fatalities and 25 injuries. Additionally, ten individuals sustained injuries in the Uri sector of Baramulla district, and three were wounded in Rajouri district.

Despite these grave incidents, officials confirmed that the Indian Army is responding to the shelling with equal force, underscoring their preparedness to safeguard the borders.
