Assam Board Class 12 Results: Historic Science Stream Pass Rate Celebrated!
Guwahati, April 30—The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has announced the Class 12 Board results, showcasing a commendable overall performance across various streams. The Science stream emerged as the leader with a pass percentage of 84.88%, followed closely by the Commerce stream at 82.18% and the Arts stream at 81.03%. The Vocational courses, while lagging behind, registered a pass percentage of 68.55%.
In the Science stream, which is known for its rigorous curriculum, a total of 57,725 students registered, with 56,909 of them taking the exam. Impressively, 48,309 students successfully passed, highlighting not just academic achievements but also the extensive dedication and hard work invested in laboratory experiments and theoretical preparations.
The Arts stream, traditionally the largest, saw a significant participation rate. Out of 2,30,090 applicants, 2,26,756 students appeared for the examinations. This year’s success rate in the Arts stream was particularly notable, with 1,83,745 students achieving passing grades, contributing to an overall pass percentage of 81.03%. The subjects tackled within this stream, ranging from political science to languages, reflect the diverse interests of the student population.
The Commerce stream also demonstrated strong performance metrics. Among 17,869 applicants, 17,746 participated in the exams, with 14,584 students passing, resulting in a pass percentage of 82.18%. This stream has gained popularity among students aspiring toward careers in business and finance, particularly in subjects such as accountancy, business studies, and economics.
Although smaller in size, the Vocational stream remains essential for equipping students with practical skills aimed at immediate employment opportunities. This year, it achieved a pass percentage of 68.55%, illustrating the growing importance of vocational education in today’s job market. Students in this stream are being trained in fields critical to economic development, including healthcare, hospitality, and technology, positioning them well for future careers.
In celebration of these accomplishments, the AHSEC has specified that all passing students will receive a hard copy of their Certificate cum Marksheet, with details on distribution to be announced soon. Students who did not pass all subjects or those who appeared under special categories will not receive certificates automatically but can apply separately to obtain them.
As the results signal a successful academic year, AHSEC encourages students to reflect on their achievements and prepare for their next steps, reinforcing the commitment to fostering educational excellence in Assam.
