Outstanding Achievement: Assam HS Results Reveal 81.77% Pass Rate for Students!
Guwahati: The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) revealed the results for the 2025 Class 12 examinations across Arts, Science, Commerce, and Vocational streams on Wednesday. Students can access their results through the official AHSEC websites, ahsec.assam.gov.in and assamresult.in. Additionally, results will be available on third-party platforms and via the mobile app ‘UPOLOBDHA’, which can be downloaded from the Play Store.
This year saw 3,02,420 students registering for the Assam Board HS exams, with 3,02,613 actually appearing. A notable 2,47,462 candidates successfully passed, yielding an overall pass percentage of 81.77%. Interestingly, female students excelled, with 1,62,423 girls taking the exams compared to 1,44,502 boys.
In terms of district performances, Baska distinguished itself as the top-performing district in the Arts stream with an impressive pass rate of 94.21%, where 4,338 out of 4,611 candidates passed. For the Science stream, West Karbi Anglong achieved a perfect 100% pass rate, as all 40 appearing students passed. In the Commerce category, South Salmara also enjoyed a 100% success, with all 11 candidates passing.
Exam results varied across streams. In Arts, from 2,30,090 registered candidates, 2,26,756 appeared, with 1,83,745 passing—an overall pass percentage of 81.03%. The Science stream saw 57,725 registered candidates, 56,909 appeared, and 48,309 passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 84.88%. In Commerce, 17,869 candidates registered, with 17,746 appearing and 14,584 passing—yielding a pass percentage of 82.18%. Meanwhile, the Vocational stream had 1,241 candidates apply, 1,202 appeared, and 824 passed, leading to a pass percentage of 68.55%.
Breaking it down by division, Arts students achieved 49,577 in the first division and 80,650 in the second division. In Science, 25,827 received first division and 19,286 second division, while Commerce saw 6,519 in the first division and 5,760 in the second division. Vocational results showed 60 in the first division and 464 in the second.
Performance disparities were evident between male and female candidates. In the Arts stream, boys had a pass percentage of 78.43%, while girls achieved 82.96%. In Science, male candidates posted an 84.39% success rate, while female candidates achieved 85.54%.
Students will need to collect their original mark sheets from their respective schools; online versions will serve only as temporary reference for college admissions. Hard copies of mark sheets will not be provided to those who failed or appeared in the “certain subjects category.” Candidates wishing to obtain hard copies despite failing must submit a separate application at the AHSEC office in Guwahati.
For those considering re-evaluations, a fee of Rs 500 per subject applies for re-checking and obtaining scanned copies of theory answer scripts. Applications for this process can be submitted through the official ASSEB website starting two days post-results.
Last year, the Class 12 results were declared on May 9. The overall pass percentage then was recorded at 88.64%, with a total of 2,73,908 candidates sitting for the exams. The trend in performance continues to highlight the increasing academic achievements within Assam’s education framework.
