Empowering Tribal Communities: Tripura’s ₹1400 Cr World Bank Initiative Brings Hope and Development

Simultaneously, different communities came together to rejoice in their unique festivals, including Bizu by the Chakmas, Bihu by the Assamese, Boisu by the Tripuri people, Garia by the Jamatia community, and Gajan and Naba Barsha by the Bengali population. The Chief Minister expressed his delight at the federal unity and diversity, acknowledging the contributions of the Chakma community in introducing their script, a significant cultural milestone.
The CEO emphasized the importance of recognizing the Janajati community’s cultural heritage and socioeconomic development through the Tripura Rural Economic Growth and Service Delivery Project (TRESP). This landmark agreement with the World Bank has secured ₹1400 crore for the project, specifically designed to enhance the livelihoods and socio-economic standing of the Janajati populace.
