Inspiring Rescue: 8-Year-Old Boy Kidnapped in Pimpri Chinchwad, Sought in 2 Hours, 1 Arrested in Pune Crime Crackdown
Pimpri Chinchwad Police and Railway Protection Force Rescued 8-Year-Old Boy in 2 Hours
In a daring operation, the Pimpri Chinchwad police, assisted by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), rescued an 8-year-old boy kidnapped by an unidentified person within a span of just two hours. The dramatic rescue marked a significant victory for the police department, which had received a complaint from the boy’s mother about his disappearance just days earlier.
According to Senior Police Inspector Devendra Chavan of the anti-extortion cell of the crime branch, the investigation revealed that the kidnapper, identified as Gajanan Panpatil (25) of Motala, Buldhana district, was someone known to the family. “Following a technical probe of phone calls, it was learnt that the accused was traveling in a train with the kidnapped boy,” said a press release issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Sandeep Doiphode.
The police team, led by Senior Inspector Chavan, worked tirelessly to track down the suspect, reviewing CCTV footage and receiving crucial clues about the kidnapper’s movements. The investigation was further aided by the RPF, who provided critical assistance in identifying the suspect’s train travel route. This information ultimately led to the RPF rescuing the boy from the Kashi Express train and apprehending Panpatil.
As the investigation unfolded, the police discovered that the boy’s parents, both laborers, were familiar with the alleged kidnapper. Senior Inspector Chavan emphasized, “The victim boy’s parents are laborers. The accused is known to them.” The police are currently probing why Panpatil allegedly kidnapped the boy and transported him by train.
The dramatic rescue was a testament to the dedication and quick thinking of the police team, who worked seamlessly with the RPF to ensure the safe return of the 8-year-old. Panpatil, who was arrested under section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, is currently being investigated further to determine the motivations behind the kidnapping. As the case continues to unfold, the Pimpri Chinchwad police are working to ensure justice is served and the boy’s family can finally find closure.
