Israel has launched its most significant and deadly offensive on Gaza since a short-lived cease-fire with Hamas took effect two months ago. As hostilities resume, around 120 hostages reportedly remain in Gaza. Israeli forces are attempting to use military pressure to secure their release, but many of their families are skeptical, accusing Netanyahu of placing war over their loved ones’ return. The United States, which was actively mediating the cease-fire, has expressed support for Israel’s renewed military efforts.
