Renaissance of Young Minds: Meghalaya’s Top Talents Converge for State-Level Debate Showdown at the Assembly
Twenty young minds from the District-Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament Festival 2025 in Shillong have made it to the state-level competition, outshining over 142 participants from East Khasi Hills and Eastern West Khasi Hills districts. The two-day event, organized by North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), featured discussions on governance, economy, national security, and social progress, with a panel of distinguished jurors evaluating the debates and selecting four winners from each session.
A highlight of the event was the presence of Guest of Honor F. Rumnong, who stressed the significance of the initiative in shaping young leaders, aligning with the Viksit Bharat@2047 vision. Chief Guest Rudi V Warjri underscored the importance of public speaking and critical thinking, encouraging students to utilize this platform to develop their leadership potential.
During the valedictory session, NEHU Registrar Incharge Baphimon Rynjah congratulated the winners and urged students to seize opportunities for personal and intellectual growth, emphasizing that such forums prepare future leaders and provide a crucial space for meaningful debate.
