Court Takes Legal Action Against Arvind Kejriwal in Scandalous Public Funds Misuse Allegation
New Delhi: Fresh Troubles for Arvind Kejriwal as Delhi Court Orders FIR Against Him for Misusing Public Funds
Arvind Kejriwal, the National Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has found himself in trouble once again as a Delhi court has ordered the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against him. The move comes on the heels of allegations that Kejriwal misused public funds by setting up large hoardings in Dwarka, a development that has left the former Delhi Chief Minister struggling to maintain his reputation.
According to the complaint filed by Shiv Kumar Saxena, Kejriwal, who is currently out on bail in a money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped excise policy, allegedly put up hoardings in Dwarka, resulting in the wastage of public money. Saxena, who initially had his complaint rejected by a magistrate, then approached the Sessions Court, which directed the magistrate to register the FIR. The Sessions Court accepted Saxena’s plea and directed the magistrate to file a compliance report by March 18, a deadline that is fast approaching.
The move is the latest in a long list of legal troubles that Kejriwal has faced over the years. As of now, he has 14 criminal cases pending against him, including one related to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Amethi and others connected to alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy. In his election nomination papers, Kejriwal listed 13 pending criminal cases, offering a glimpse into his legal woes.
The FIR against Kejriwal is not the only challenge he faces. His wife, Sunita Kejriwal, also reported Rs 32,000 in cash on hand, while their movable assets are valued at Rs 3.46 lakh and Rs 1 crore, respectively. The former Delhi Chief Minister also owns immovable assets worth Rs 1.7 crore, with Sunita holding assets worth Rs 1.5 crore.
The development is likely to make it difficult for Kejriwal to continue in public life, which has been marked by controversy and legal troubles. As a seasoned journalist, I can confidently say that this latest development is a blow not just to Kejriwal’s reputation but also to the AAP’s prospects in the upcoming elections. The Delhi court’s decision, however, may be the catalyst for a change in the way the public perceives Kejriwal’s leadership, already facing scrutiny over other controversies.
As we continue to monitor this developing story, it is clear that Kejriwal’s future in public life is increasingly uncertain. With this latest FIR, the former Delhi Chief Minister is no stranger to the challenges that come with facing such situations. Nonetheless, one thing is certain – the Delhi court’s decision will have far-reaching implications for Kejriwal’s political future. As the situation unfolds, we will provide updates, analysis, and commentary that shed light on the complexities surrounding this story.
