National News Alert: Enhanced Security Measures in Jammu Ahead of Independence Day
Jammu, July 29: In response to the recent surge in terror attacks in the Jammu division, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, has called for enhanced offensive operations and reinforced border deployments.
Chairing a high-level security meeting ahead of Independence Day, ADGP Jain emphasized the necessity of bolstering the border deployment grid and securing police and army establishments. He advocated for a combination of offensive measures and preventive strategies across various districts.
During the comprehensive meeting, security officials presented an extensive security assessment and discussed potential threats. The input from intelligence agencies, including the Army, CRPF, BSF, and CID, was thoroughly analyzed. ADGP Jain underscored the importance of a coordinated approach among intelligence agencies to address security concerns effectively.
"To address the latest trends in terror activities, inter-agency cooperation is essential to mitigate these threats," Jain stated. He directed the establishment of joint checkpoints at vulnerable locations and stressed the importance of securing inter-district boundaries.
Additionally, ADGP Jain issued directives to prepare for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations while maintaining a high level of alertness. He highlighted the significance of ensuring the peaceful conduct of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra and called for continuous vigilance in border areas and the hinterland to prevent infiltration attempts. Jain also pointed out the growing threat posed by drones used by terror outfits for illicit activities, urging officials to give special attention to countering this menace.
This call for heightened security measures aims to fortify the region against emerging threats and ensure the safety and security of citizens during the significant national events.
