Cop’s Eye on Controversial Aides: Two FIRs Registered against Dhas’ Right-Hand Man
Corrupt Local Leader on the Run After Multiple Allegations Emerge
Just days after NCP leader Dhananjay Munde’s resignation in the wake of allegations surrounding his aide Walmik Karad’s involvement in the killing of Beed sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, another local strongman has come under the radar of the law. Satish Bhosle, a close aide of BJP MLA Suresh Dhas, has been accused of multiple crimes, including beating a man with a bat, as seen in a viral video, and registered multiple FIRs against him in the past three days.
According to Beed Superintendent of Police Navneet Kanwat, a police team took suo motu cognisance of the bat-beating video and registered an FIR against Bhosle at the Shirur police station on Wednesday. The incident, which took place last year, involved a sugarcane picker, who was allegedly beaten by Bhosle following a monetary dispute. Sources revealed that the victim, a 55-year-old Dilip Dhakne, had found Bhosle and two others from his family beating up his son, and later, Bhosle’s relative Satish arrived at the scene with a group of men, leading to the brutal beating of the father-son duo.
Another FIR was registered against Bhosle and six others on Thursday, following a complaint by Bhausaheb Bhosle, Satish’s relative, who allegedly gave a false name and posed as a "village head" to trap a farmer, Dilip Dhakne, into a false argument, and then had him beaten up, allegedly at the behest of Satish.
The video of Satish beating the man with a bat has been widely circulated, and now multiple other videos, including ones of him throwing money at school children and hunting animals, have surfaced, prompting outrage and concern among locals. Dhas, the MLA, has distanced himself from Bhosle, stating, "He is my party worker, and I have told the police to take necessary action if he is involved in wrongdoing."
The litany of allegations against Bhosle is a significant embarrassment for the BJP, which had vigorously pursued the case against Munde and Karad, indicating a pattern of corruption and abuse of power within local politics.
The police are on the lookout for Satish, who is currently on the run. The law enforcement agencies are also investigating multiple FIRs against Bhosle, including the one registered earlier, indicating a concerted effort to bring him to justice. As the scandal continues to unfold, the people of Beed and surrounding areas await justice and a respite from the reign of terror inflicted by such individuals.
