Minister Parvesh Singh Takes Delhi’s Development Vision to the Next Level: Inspects Infrastructure Projects across the Capital
PWD Minister Inspects Delhi’s Infrastructure Projects, Vows to Revamp Neglected Corridors
In a bid to revamp Delhi’s ailing infrastructure, Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh on Thursday inspected ongoing projects in the Defence Colony area, specifically highlighting a damaged pulley (small bridge) that has been out of commission for two years, causing road closure and severe traffic congestion.
The bridge, which connects to the critical Barapullah corridor, has seen little progress under the previous government, with its cost currently doubled since its original sanction. Singh blamed the previous AAP government’s "negligence" and "financial mismanagement," vowing to conduct a thorough investigation into the project’s expenditures.
"Where has Kejriwal spent public money? We will conduct a thorough investigation into these expenditures. The BJP government remains committed to ensuring transparency, efficiency, and timely completion of infrastructure projects for the benefit of the people," he emphasized.
Since the BJP took office, Singh has prioritized revamping the city’s infrastructure. In the past week alone, over 10 meetings have been held with officials to assess the situation and restart development projects. Key initiatives include:
• Preparing a plan for sewer and footpath cleaning
• Reviewing pending flyover projects and restarting their construction
• Undertaking pavement beautification under flyovers
Singh also touched on a probe into the exclusion of eight constituencies represented by BJP MLAs from the AAP’s CCTV camera installation scheme, announced in the Delhi Assembly. Viswas Nagar MLA O P Sharma raised the issue, demanding an inquiry by the Central Vigilance Commission.
"We will investigate this matter and take action against officers responsible if found guilty," the PWD Minister assured.
