Imphal: Joint Forces Secure Major Explosive Cache in Manipur Village
In a significant operation, a team of central and state security forces successfully recovered a cache of explosive devices in Langza village, Churachandpur district, Manipur. The operation involved collaboration between central paramilitary troops and Manipur police commandos, who discovered and neutralized several Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) during their search and area domination exercises.
The arsenal included a 1-kilogram black IED, two 500-gram devices—one black and one red—alongside three locally fabricated bombs and three improvised pompi ammunition. With the expertise of bomb disposal units, these devices were safely defused, ensuring the operation concluded without incident.
In addition to the explosives, the joint forces retrieved a variety of arms and ammunition. This included a .303 Rifle, three single-barrel guns, a modified 81 mm Mortar, and a collection of live rounds. All recovered items were promptly handed over to the local police station for further investigation.
