Breaking: MLA Akhil Gogoi’s Explosive Response to Expulsion over Alleged BJP Corruption and Scams
Raijor Dal MLA Akhil Gogoi has been expelled from the Assam Legislative Assembly following his allegations of corruption in the Jal Jeevan Mission concerning Guwahati’s water supply. Gogoi accused certain individuals of fund misappropriation and called for a high-level investigation. He claimed his expulsion resulted from personal attacks by a minister angered by his accusations.
Gogoi labeled the situation as “the biggest scam under BJP rule,” criticizing the government for its poor management of public funds and demanding greater accountability. Additionally, he questioned the integrity of the Assam Public Service Commission’s (APSC) recruitment process. He insisted on dismissing appointees involved in alleged irregularities and sought an adjournment motion for further discussion on the matter.
Turning attention to syndicate operations in Assam, Gogoi described the scenario as “alarming” and urged immediate government intervention. He also highlighted the crisis at the Umrangso mining site, where 11 workers remain trapped, stressing the necessity for the Assembly session to be suspended until a rescue is achieved. Gogoi demanded a fact-finding team be sent to evaluate the on-site conditions.
This series of demands and accusations spurred significant unrest in the Assembly, intensifying conflicts between Congress and the ruling party regarding an adjournment motion.
