Urgent Plea: Unresolved Naga Political Crisis Stalling Progress – CM’s Impassioned Call to Action
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio emphasized the urgent need to resolve the ongoing Naga political issue, which has significantly slowed developmental progress in the state. Speaking at the golden jubilee celebration of Tsiesema Basa village in Kohima’s Northern Angami area on February 18, Rio addressed the profound impact of the unresolved Indo-Naga conflict on Nagaland’s growth. He highlighted that several major developmental initiatives have been stalled for years due to this enduring issue.
Rio assured the gathering that resolving the Naga political issue is the government’s foremost priority. He noted that all 60 members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) have demonstrated unity by forming an opposition-less government. Together, they have submitted a resolution to the Government of India, seeking an expedient resolution to the conflict. The Chief Minister indicated that these legislators are planning another meeting with central leaders to push for a solution.
Rio expressed his belief that a timely resolution of this longstanding issue would unlock Nagaland’s potential for accelerated growth and prosperity. He reiterated the importance of addressing the Indo-Naga political issue to pave the way for uninterrupted developmental progress across the state.
The Chief Minister’s statements at the Tsiesema Basa village celebration reflect the collective aspiration of the Nagaland government to expedite the resolution process. His comments underline the strategic importance of political stability for the state’s future growth and the role of cohesive political action in driving this agenda forward.
