Rahman, has praised Kaveri for her new single, “Ek Dhaaga Toda Maine,” which she both composed and performed. With Hindi lyrics by Prasoon Joshi and production by Rahman, the song showcases Kaveri’s inherent gift for songwriting and her unique perspective on the world. The track “Ek Dhaaga Toda Maine” is a poignant exploration of life’s complexities, made more resonant by Kaveri’s soothing, soulful voice. Originally written in English as “Reminisce” by a 15-year-old Kaveri, the song caught Rahman’s attention, leading to its development for the film’s soundtrack at the request of director Kunal Kohli. Prasoon Joshi then transformed the lyrics into Hindi, completing the piece.
Kaveri regards Rahman as her mentor, acknowledging his significant influence on her musical journey. In a separate event, Rahman commented on the recent “India’s Got Latent” controversy involving comedian Samay Raina and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia. At the event, Rahman humorously referenced the fallout, earning applause with his remark, “I think in the past week we have seen what all happens when the mouth opens,” accompanied by an emoji placing hands over the mouth.
