Revitalizing Guwahati’s Riverfront: A Stunning Transformation to Boost Tourism, Says Minister
Assam’s Housing and Urban Affairs Minister, Jayanta Mallabaruah, has provided updates on the Guwahati Riverfront Beautification project, underscoring its potential to transform the city into a prominent tourist hotspot. The initiative includes the construction of 2-3 gardens along the Brahmaputra River, with rapid progress reported under the guidance of the Chief Minister.
Mallabaruah noted that the completion of the Guwahati-North Guwahati connecting bridge will enhance the beautification process. Currently, two parks have already been completed as part of the project, with expectations for the entire riverfront beautification to finish by April. These efforts are integral to attracting both domestic and international tourists, contributing to Assam’s broader tourism and urban development goals.
This beautification project coincides with Assam’s aspirations to bolster its tourism sector and improve urban infrastructure, setting the stage for Guwahati to emerge as a major tourist destination.
