Breaking: Massive Seizure of 7,800 Yaba Tablets Worth Rs 2 Crore in South Salmara Stuns Community!
In a major crackdown on narcotics, Salmara Police successfully executed a source-based operation, seizing 7,800 Yaba tablets worth an estimated Rs 2 crore from a residential property. The operation led to the apprehension of one suspect.
Concurrently, under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ) Pratap Das, the South Salmara-Mankachar police conducted a series of anti-narcotics raids on January 21. These raids targeted areas in Chirakhowa, Bangrichar, and Balughat, culminating in the arrest of three individuals and the confiscation of illegal drugs, cash, and various items linked to drug trafficking.
Responding to a tip-off, a team from the Kalapani Outpost moved swiftly in Chirakhowa village, where they detained Romjan Ali, a 24-year-old suspect. This operation resulted in the seizure of 11 vials of a substance suspected to be brown sugar, weighing a total of 12.48 grams including the vials. Authorities also confiscated a Samsung mobile phone and Rs 485 in cash from the scene.
These operations underscore the relentless efforts by the law enforcement agencies in South Salmara-Mankachar to combat the drug menace, reflecting their commitment to maintaining community safety and curbing illegal drug activities.
