Elon Musk’s Surprising Obsession: Dogecoin HQ Becomes His New ‘Home Away from Home’
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has reportedly been using the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) headquarters in Washington D.C. as his makeshift bedroom, foregoing a more prestigious invitation to stay in the White House’s Lincoln Bedroom. During a recent black-tie event held by the Alfalfa Club, Musk disclosed that despite the invitation, he opted for DOGE’s Eisenhower Executive Office Building headquarters to maintain distance from a formal association with Donald Trump’s team. This move comes after the West Wing’s Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles, declined Musk office space within the presidential premises.
A Wired report highlights Musk’s hands-on approach, reminiscent of 2018 when he reportedly slept on Tesla’s factory floor due to intense work schedules. Musk has been known to push his teams to their limits, urging them to sleep on the production lines to accelerate the release of new electric vehicle models. Such methods have led to allegations of a toxic workplace culture, although Musk insists that his presence on the ground significantly motivates his workforce.
By choosing to operate out of DOGE during its ongoing legal battles, Musk demonstrates his preference for being at the heart of operations, emphasizing leadership by example. The billionaire’s dedication to his endeavors continues to draw attention, not only for his professional commitments but also for how he blurs the lines between his work and personal life.
