Arunachal Pradesh Shines in Wushu at 38th National Games
DEHRADUN, 30 Jan: Nyeman Wangsu, a standout wushu athlete from Arunachal Pradesh, secured the region’s first gold at the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand, triumphing in the Daoshu event. According to chef de mission Abraham K Techi, this victory marks Wangsu’s third consecutive gold in National Games, following her triumphs in Gujarat and Goa, underscoring her prowess in this Chinese martial art.
In addition to Wangsu’s success, Chera Loku and Yorna Rosni added to Arunachal Pradesh’s medal tally on Thursday. Loku claimed a silver in the Taijiquan event, while Rosni earned a bronze in Nandao.
Despite their achievements in wushu, the men’s badminton team from Arunachal faced challenges. Making their debut in the National Games badminton event, the team exited early after 1-4 losses to Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. Nevertheless, their qualification marked a significant milestone for Arunachal in this prominent sporting event.
