Shock and Relief: Actor Allu Arjun Granted Regular Bail in Pushpa 2 Stampede Case | India News
Actor Allu Arjun was granted regular bail by a local court on Friday regarding the Sandhya Theatre stampede case in Hyderabad. The incident took place during the premiere of “Pushpa 2: The Rule” on December 4, when a chaotic situation erupted as a large crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the star. Tragically, the chaos resulted in the death of a woman named Revathi and injuries to her child, Sri Tej. Allu Arjun was reportedly seen greeting fans from the sunroof of his car, which led to the stampede.
Allu Arjun’s lawyer, Ashok Reddy, confirmed that bail was granted because the court determined the case did not amount to culpable homicide. Conditions attached to the bail require Arjun to regularly attend the local police station. A quash petition is currently pending before the High Court, with the next hearing scheduled for January 21.
In a gesture of support and responsibility following the incident, Allu Arjun’s father pledged a financial aid of Rs 2 crores to Sri Tej and the family of the late Revathi. The injured child showed signs of recovery 20 days after the incident, which was on December 24.
This case highlights the overwhelming turnout of fans for popular film stars and raises concerns about crowd management and safety at public events. The proceedings in court and the aid provided by Allu Arjun’s family emphasize the importance of addressing both legal and moral responsibilities in such tragic occurrences.
