Kaushik Kashyap, a budding singer-songwriter from Dibrugarh, Assam, has captivated the music scene with his latest Hindi single, "Chandni Raat." Released on the YouTube channel “WECFY” music, the romantic ballad quickly gained attention in its first week, highlighting Kashyap’s remarkable talent.
The music video, set against the backdrop of Dibrugarh’s historic sites, depicts the transformative power of love on an introverted individual. Significantly, "Chandni Raat" was both conceived and produced during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time marked by significant challenges for Kashyap. Returning to his hometown from Mumbai amid the lockdown, he faced financial and professional difficulties. Despite limited resources, he converted his room into a temporary studio, infusing his personal experiences into the creation of the song. Kashyap considers this project a testament to overcoming adversity, investing his savings to realize his vision.
Kashyap’s passion for music was nurtured from an early age within a musically inclined family. Though he initially pursued engineering, his heart led him to Mumbai, where he worked with renowned artist Ali Quli Mirza.
