An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale struck Nepal early Saturday, December 21, as reported by the National Centre of Seismology (NCS). The tremor occurred at 3:59 a.m. Indian Standard Time (IST), with its epicenter located 10 kilometers below the surface. The NCS identified the epicenter’s coordinates as Latitude 29.17°N and Longitude 81.59°E.
Authorities are actively monitoring the aftermath to evaluate any possible effects on nearby communities. So far, there have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
