Braja Kumar Singh, a 45-year-old resident of Panjigram in Cachar district’s Barakhala circle, tragically died on Friday night after being struck by a mini truck. Singh, the sole breadwinner for his family, was out buying essentials when a speeding truck transporting stones hit him. He suffered severe injuries and was initially taken to Barkhola Government Hospital. Due to the seriousness of his condition, he was quickly transferred to Silchar Medical College and Hospital, where he passed away during the night while receiving treatment. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, leaving a community in mourning over this sudden loss. Singh is survived by his wife, daughter, and younger brother, who now face an uncertain future. This incident has not only left a void in the lives of Singh’s family members but has also cast a shadow of grief upon the local community.
