Ambitious Vision: Himanta Biswa Sarma’s Bold Plan for Permanent Party Offices in Every Mandal by 2026!
In an effort to bolster the Bharatiya Janata Party’s grassroots presence in Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced a significant initiative to establish permanent party offices in all mandals across the state. The project officially commenced with the inauguration of the Sualkuchi Mandal office in Kamrup (Rural) district, marking the beginning of a statewide expansion plan.
During the inauguration ceremony, CM Sarma emphasized the transformative potential of these offices, describing the inaugural facility as a model to be emulated across Assam. “This modern office with state-of-the-art facilities is just the beginning of our efforts to strengthen connections with the people,” he declared. Sarma outlined that the majority of these offices should be operational by 2026, aligning with the timeline for the next state elections.
The Chief Minister underscored the strategic importance of these offices as vital hubs for understanding local concerns and delivering effective solutions. He stated, “These spaces will enable us to stay in constant touch with the community and work collaboratively for their welfare.”
The event also drew significant political traction, with notable attendees including Union Minister Pabitra Margherita and North Kamrup BJP president Subal Pal praising the initiative for its potential to enhance the party’s outreach.
In tandem with this political initiative, CM Sarma launched the Palasbari-Sualkuchi Bridge project, an ambitious infrastructure undertaking. The 12.2 km-long bridge over the Brahmaputra River, with an estimated budget of Rs. 3,190 crore, aims to enhance connectivity between Palasbari and Sualkuchi. The foundation stone for the project was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 14, 2023, and completion is expected by 2028.
These announcements of permanent BJP offices and a landmark infrastructure project highlight the government’s dual commitment to strengthening grassroots connections and improving Assam’s physical connectivity, reflecting a comprehensive approach to regional development and political engagement.
