Breaking: NIA’s Stunning Victory in Mizoram – Three Arrested in Sinister Arms Trafficking Syndicate
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has apprehended three individuals in Mizoram for their alleged involvement in an arms and ammunition trafficking syndicate. The arrests followed comprehensive searches at six locations across the state, as outlined in an official statement. The individuals taken into custody have been identified as Lalrinchhunga, Vanlaldailova, and Lalmuanpuia. These suspects have ties with previously arrested individuals and are believed to play an active role in the trafficking network of weapons, ammunition, and explosives.
The coordinated searches, conducted in the Mammit, Serchip, and Aizawl districts, targeted various sites, including a gunhouse. The operations led to the seizure of a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, explosives, equipment for weapons manufacturing, digital devices, and other incriminating materials. This development is part of NIA’s ongoing probe into a case registered on December 26, 2023.
The NIA launched its investigation based on intelligence that certain entities in Mizoram were illicitly trafficking arms and explosives within the northeastern region of India. Earlier phases of the investigation had led to charges being filed against accusations Lalngaihawma and Solomona, also known as Hminga or Lalmithanga, in July and November 2024, respectively.
As the investigation progresses, the NIA aims to dismantle the conspiracy surrounding this illegal arms trafficking network in Mizoram and surrounding northeastern states. The agency remains dedicated to uncovering the full scope of this network and bringing all involved to justice.
