Breaking: Renowned Taal Director Subhash Ghai Hospitalized in Mumbai – Fans Rally with Concern and Hope
Celebrated Bollywood director Subhash Ghai was hospitalized today in Mumbai, sparking concern among fans and the film industry. The 79-year-old director was admitted to Lilavati Hospital after experiencing discomfort. Initial reports suggested that he was dealing with speech difficulties and memory loss, though some outlets mentioned it was a routine check-up.
According to updates from several entertainment news outlets, Ghai was brought to the hospital midweek, citing complaints of weakness, respiratory issues, and dizziness. As per the IANS agency, he is now in the ICU, where doctors are addressing his speech difficulties and confusion. Lilavati Hospital released a statement confirming Ghai’s admission and outlined his medical background, which includes ischaemic heart disease, past surgeries in 2009 and 2011, and a recent diagnosis of hypothyroidism. Dr. Rohit Deshpande is overseeing his treatment.
An update from the hospital reveals that initial tests, including a CT angio of the brain, chest, and abdomen, returned acceptable results for someone of Ghai’s age. However, further examination, including an ultrasound of the neck, indicated signs of thyroiditis. More concerning was a transrectal ultrasound of the prostate, which discovered a heterogeneous hypoechoic lesion with a high serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) value, suggesting a potential paraneoplastic syndrome linked to the prostate lesion. Consequently, Ghai is scheduled for a PET-CT scan on Monday for further evaluation.
As the film fraternity and fans await positive news on his health, Ghai’s condition remains closely monitored at the hospital. Stay tuned to BollywoodLife for the latest updates on this story, along with other news from Bollywood, Hollywood, and beyond.
