Heartfelt Tribute: Assam’s Armed Forces Flag Day Honors Brave Heroes at Guwahati Raj Bhavan
The Armed Forces Flag Day 2024 was commemorated at Raj Bhavan in Guwahati on December 7, underscoring a tribute to the Armed Forces personnel who selflessly guard the nation’s borders and uphold its territorial integrity. The event celebrated the bravery and unwavering dedication of these soldiers and veterans.
Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya was present at the gathering, which included Veer Naris, disabled soldiers, veterans, and current Armed Forces personnel. In his address, Governor Acharya lauded the valour and sacrifices of the soldiers, emphasizing the state’s steadfast commitment to the welfare and rehabilitation of veterans and their families. He highlighted the collective duty of citizens to support the families and dependents of those who have sacrificed their lives in service to the country.
To mark the significance of the day, Governor Acharya unveiled a wall and a table calendar. These calendars feature the activities of the Directorate of Sainik Welfare in Assam, showcasing efforts toward the welfare, well-being, and rehabilitation of the Ex-Servicemen community in the region.
This celebration serves as a poignant reminder of the nation’s gratitude and responsibility towards its Armed Forces, reinforcing the importance of ongoing support for these courageous individuals and their families.
