Unstoppable Spirit: Meghalaya Women Gear Up for a Historic Victory in the Senior One Day Trophy 2024-25
The Meghalaya Cricket Association’s Senior Women Selection Committee has announced a 15-member squad alongside standbys to represent the state in the upcoming BCCI Senior Women One Day Trophy. Set in Haryana from December 4 to 16, this tournament presents a robust platform for these athletes. The team, which will face Karnataka on December 4 and Pondicherry on December 6, will have their performance evaluated after the first two matches. This assessment will allow for potential adjustments in the lineup as per player performance to ensure competitive participation.
The team underwent rigorous preparation during a camp held in Jagiroad, Assam, from November 17 to 30 before departing for Haryana. The selected players for the first two matches include Debasmita Dutta, who will captain the team, Riticia Nongbet as vice-captain, along with Luiza Tamang, Monica L Phawa, and several others making up the core squad. Standby players such as Ruby Chettri and Deiphibapynshngain L Mawnai are poised to step in if required.
The team will be guided by Head Coach Deepali C Patkar and assisted by Mackie D Blah. To ensure optimal player health and preparedness, support staff includes Wandashisha Dkhar as the physio and Darishesha Mawroh as the trainer, under the management of Sanvert Kurkalang.
