Urgent Plea: Nabendu Bhattacharjee Condemns Heartbreaking Minority Persecution in Bangladesh

Agartala, 30th November 2024: Pradesh BJP spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharya voiced serious concerns over the persecution of minorities in Chittagong, Bangladesh, during a press briefing on Saturday. He emphasized the critical need for international intervention, suggesting that organizations might seek the involvement of the International Court of Justice to address the escalating atrocities against non-Muslims in the region. Historically, Chittagong had a 97% non-Muslim population during the partition, but recent developments point towards increasing persecution, which Bhattacharya describes as ‘alarming.’

Furthermore, Bhattacharya expressed gratitude to Tripura’s Chief Minister, Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, and his cabinet for their successful efforts in filling government vacancies and creating positions catering to the specific needs of the state. He praised the administration’s proactive approach, noting its pivotal role in fostering statewide development and addressing employment challenges.

Highlighting the BJP government’s commitment to empowering the youth of Tripura, Bhattacharya emphasized the positive transformation observed since the party assumed power. He attributed the rising public interest in the BJP administration to its focused efforts on youth self-reliance and empowerment.

He also reflected on the success of the Namo Yuva program, set to culminate tomorrow, which garnered an overwhelming response from enthusiastic and supportive youths. According to Bhattacharya, no previous administration managed to execute such a spirited youth program in Agartala.

The press conference underscored the BJP’s dedication to tackling significant issues both domestically and across borders. Bhattacharya’s appeal for international intervention in Chittagong serves as a poignant reminder of the urgent need to safeguard minority rights and bring justice to those enduring persecution.
