Unbelievable! 13-Year-Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi Shatters Records with ₹1.1 Crore IPL Auction Bid
In a historic moment for Indian cricket, 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Bihar has become the youngest player ever signed in the Indian Premier League (IPL). During the IPL 2025 auction held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 25, Rajasthan Royals secured the promising youngster for ₹1.1 crore. Hailing from Samastipur, Suryavanshi’s entry into the IPL marks him as the youngest player not only to join a team roster but also to participate in the IPL auction.
Suryavanshi rose to national prominence during the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy season, where he debuted against Mumbai at just 12 years and 284 days, breaking previous records set by renowned cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Sachin Tendulkar. His exceptional talent was further displayed during the Youth Test series against Australia in Chennai, where he scored a dazzling 104 runs off 62 balls, becoming the youngest centurion in the 170-year history of competitive cricket at 13 years and 188 days. This century, achieved in just 58 balls, is the second fastest in youth cricket, following closely behind England’s Moeen Ali.
Suryavanshi’s remarkable achievements have made him a sensation in the cricket world, setting new benchmarks for young athletes aspiring to make their mark.
