Exciting News: Unveiling the Draft Electoral Roll for Erode District – Stay Informed and Empowered!
District Election Officer and Collector Raja Gopal Sunkara unveiled the draft electoral roll for Erode district, Tamil Nadu, on Tuesday, as reported by M. Govarthan. The announcement was made in the presence of political party representatives, covering all eight Assembly constituencies in Erode. As of October 29, 2024, the district records a total of 19,64,676 voters, comprising 9,50,706 men, 10,03,789 women, and 181 transgender individuals. Women voters surpass men by 3.22%.
The specific voter distribution per constituency includes Erode (East) with 2,27,480 voters, Erode (West) with 2,98,484, and Modakkurichi with 2,27,813, among others. A total of 21,465 names were removed, while 19,645 new names were added to the draft roll. The district accommodates voters across 2,222 polling stations distributed over 959 locations.
The public can view and request changes to the draft roll from October 29 to November 28, weekdays, at local polling stations. Furthermore, special submission camps will be held on two consecutive weekends in November. Online applications are welcome via the Election Commission’s website or app, with the final electoral roll set for release on January 6, 2025. Seventeen polling stations have been relocated from unsafe buildings. The event was attended by District Revenue Officer S. Shantha Kumar, Assistant Collector Ramakrishnasamy, and other officials.
