Exciting Joyrides Await: NFR Launches Thrilling Diesel Special Toy Train Services!
The Northeast Frontier Railway is set to launch four diesel special Joyrides on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) toy train service between Darjeeling and Ghum, starting from October 21 to December 5, 2024. These daily services aim to accommodate the surge in tourists during the peak season. DHR, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracts thousands of domestic and international tourists eager to experience the scenic beauty of Darjeeling’s hills.
The diesel Joyride services include Train No. 02547 departing Darjeeling at 9:20 AM, reaching Ghum by 10:05 AM, and returning to Darjeeling at 10:55 AM. Train No. 02548 leaves Darjeeling at 11:25 AM, arriving at Ghum by 12:10 PM, and heads back to Darjeeling at 1:00 PM. Train No. 02549 departs Darjeeling at 1:25 PM, arrives in Ghum at 2:10 PM, and returns to Darjeeling at 3:05 PM. Lastly, Train No. 02550 leaves Darjeeling at 3:30 PM, reaches Ghum by 4:15 PM, and makes its return at 5:05 PM.
Each of these Joyrides will operate with three first-class chair car coaches, offering 30 seats in two coaches and 29 seats in the third. This special operation is designed to enhance the travel experience, allowing passengers to appreciate the breathtaking landscapes uniquely.
