Breaking News: Major Victory as Mastermind Terrorists Behind Horrific Grenade Attacks Captured in Jammu and Kashmir
In a significant breakthrough against terror activities, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, in collaboration with the 37 Rashtriya Rifles and the 38th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force, successfully dismantled a terror module in Poonch. The operation led to the arrest of Abdul Aziz and Manwar Hussain, members of the Jammu and Kashmir Ghaznavi Force (JKGF), marking a critical step in curbing regional terrorism. According to Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Anand Jain, these arrests effectively solve all five grenade attack cases reported in the district since November last year.
Aziz and Hussain are accused of multiple terror acts, including grenade attacks on religious sites and hospitals, terror financing, spreading anti-national propaganda, and arms smuggling. The authorities recovered a cache of weapons during the operation, including grenades, a pistol, and ammunition.
Further investigations revealed links to cross-border handlers, from whom the duo received arms and monetary support. Aziz and Hussain were reportedly trained in firearms and had practiced shooting in forested areas. Aziz is linked to attacks on various targets, including religious sites and a school, while Hussain is implicated in an attack near district hospital quarters and distributing anti-national propaganda.
The ongoing operation also led to the arrest of another module member, Mohd Shabir, who was found with a large stockpile of explosives. Aziz had supplied these materials, underscoring the elaborate network supported by cross-border elements.
ADGP Jain emphasized the continued efforts to dismantle both the operational and support networks of terrorism in the region, ensuring properties used by terror operatives are seized. He commended the security forces for maintaining peace during key events like the Budha Amarnath Yatra and elections, reiterating the determination to rid the area of foreign mercenaries and local terror threats.
