Comprehensive and Striking List of Hezbollah and Hamas Leaders Eliminated by Israel Since October 7, 2023
High-Profile Deaths in Ongoing Israel-Hamas Conflict
In the escalating conflict between Israel and militant groups Hamas and Hezbollah, several prominent leaders have been killed. Israel announced on October 17, 2024, the death of Yahya Sinwar, a key figure behind the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which intensified hostilities. Hassan Nasrallah, the longstanding leader of Hezbollah in Lebanon, was also reported killed in Israeli airstrikes targeting senior militant figures. Other high-ranking members killed include Ali Karaki and Nabil Kaouk from Hezbollah, and Ismail Haniyeh, former Hamas leader, who was assassinated in Tehran.
The Israeli military has claimed responsibility for targeted operations that have eliminated numerous leaders. Among these were Mohammed Deif, Hamas’s military leader, and Saleh al-Arouri, a key figure in the Qassam Brigades. Several Hezbollah commanders, such as Ibrahim Aqil and Fuad Shukr, were also reported dead. Other fatalities include Ibrahim Qubaisi and Mohammed Srur, critical members of Hezbollah’s weaponry divisions.
These strategic kills have significantly impacted the leadership structure of both Hamas and Hezbollah. The ongoing military actions are part of Israel’s continuing efforts to dismantle operational capabilities of these Iran-backed groups. The Israeli offensive in Lebanon has reportedly also disrupted Hezbollah’s regional influence, further escalating tensions in the Middle East.
