Shocking Revelation: Mizoram CM’s ‘Sextortion Calls’ Scandal Sparks Youth Congress Outrage and Urgent Probe Demand
Aizawl, Oct 10: The Mizoram Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (MPYCC) has called on the state government to launch an investigation into alleged “sextortion” calls reportedly received by Chief Minister Lalduhoma. During a seminar on cybercrime in Serchhip, organized by the Mizoram Police and Mizoram Journalists’ Association, the Chief Minister disclosed that he had received over 100 such calls. He noted these late-night video calls appeared to come from young women, although the authenticity of the images could not be verified. Lalduhoma stated that he had blocked more than 100 phone numbers linked to these incidents.
The Youth Congress condemned the situation as “shameful” and expressed that it tainted the reputation of both the government and the state. “It is unprecedented for a Chief Minister to receive such indecent calls,” their statement read, pressing for a comprehensive inquiry to track down those behind the nuisance. A clip capturing Lalduhoma’s disclosure has since gone viral on social media, bringing the issue further into the spotlight.
The MPYCC’s demand underscores the urgency and severity of cyber threats, emphasizing the necessity for robust measures to protect public officials from such invasions of privacy. As the call for accountability intensifies, it highlights the growing concern over cybercrime and its implications within Mizoram’s political sphere.
