Two separate road accidents in Guwahati on Monday resulted in injuries to five individuals, including four bikers and a driver. The first incident occurred on the Zoo Road flyover when a speeding four-wheeler struck a bike, severely injuring two young men, Leher Sou Siotia, 20, and Jatin Parick, 23. Both reside in Chandmari. The impact caused their bike to hit a stationary truck, further aggravating the situation. The driver of the car also sustained injuries and was taken to a private hospital for treatment.
In another incident in Ganeshguri, a speeding four-wheeler collided with a two-wheeler, leaving its unidentified riders badly injured. Nupur Deka, an ASI at the Dispur traffic branch, confirmed the bikers were traveling toward Hatigaon when the accident happened. Authorities are investigating both accidents amidst concerns over rising vehicular mishaps in the city.
