Crucial Showdown: Sebi Chief Buch Faces Parliament Panel on Oct 24 Amid Adani-Hindenburg Controversy

Both have rejected any claims of misconduct. The allegations involve financial ties with the Adani Group, stirring a political storm. The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament has planned to assess the performance of top regulatory bodies and has summoned the heads of Sebi and TRAI for a deposition on October 24. Senior officials from the Departments of Economic Affairs and Communications are also expected to attend. The PAC’s discussion will include a performance review of regulatory bodies, as per its official agenda. Despite denials from both the Adani Group and the Buchs, Hindenburg has alleged that they hold stakes in offshore entities linked to Adani’s purported financial malpractices. Congress has further demanded Madhabi Puri Buch’s resignation as Sebi chief.
