Empowering Change: Emerging North East Eco Forum’s Heartfelt Initiative Distributes Menstrual Kits in Nagaland Schools – Northeast News
Kohima: In a commendable initiative, the Emerging North East Eco Forum (ENEEF) successfully distributed 2,000 reusable menstrual kits to female students in Nagaland. This effort took place on September 29 and 30 in the districts of Nuiland and Chumoukedima. The menstrual kits, designed for a two-year usage period, aim to provide sustainable solutions for menstrual hygiene.
The project received vital support from Shashikiran Charitable Trust and Mooncatcher, USA. Kits were officially handed over to MLA & Advisor K.T. Sukhalu and MLA Phongsing Phom on September 29. The ENEEF team, spearheaded by founder Satyajit Aribam, co-founder Vickram Maitei, and Advisor Sentila Yanger, distributed the kits to female students at the United Village Government High School in Nuiland and the Diphupar Government High Secondary School in Chumoukedima over the two-day period.
Further extending their efforts, the team met with Chumoukedima’s Deputy Commissioner, Polan John, to facilitate the distribution of kits to marginalized female students in district government schools.
This initiative represents a significant stride in promoting menstrual hygiene and empowering women in the region.
In addition to this impactful distribution, Chumoukedima recently witnessed the opening of Nagaland’s first water park, ‘Merry Land Park,’ enhancing recreational facilities in the area.
The ENEEF-led project underscores the importance of accessible menstrual hygiene and reflects a broader commitment to addressing essential needs in the community.
