চাঞ্চল্য: পুনৰ উত্থাপিত বড়োলেণ্ড পৃথক ৰাজ্য দাবী — কোনে, কেতিয়া, ক’ত?
A meeting convened by the Boro National Students’ Union (BoNSU) at the Bodoland Guest House on Thursday revived long-standing demands for a separate Bodoland state and discussed plans to intensify protest actions if necessary. The session focused on coordinating efforts among groups that back the creation of smaller states across the country.
Attending the meeting were Sanjay Thulung, chief convener of the Small States Coordination Committee; BoNSU president Banjit Manjil Basumatary; Daorao Deshrep Narzary, executive president of the Bodoland Janajati Suraksha Manch; and representatives from several other organizations involved in the statehood campaign.
Representatives of the Sadau BTAD Gaonburha Santha, former members of the NDFB, ex-members of volunteer force units, and the All Boro Senior Citizens’ Forum also took part in the discussions, signaling wide participation from different sections of the Boro movement.
After the meeting, Sanjay Thulung told reporters that organizations supporting small-state demands will renew collective action and intensify their respective movements for separate-state recognition. He said participants agreed to begin talks with the central government but warned that, if necessary, democratic mass movements could be launched again.
BoNSU president Banjit Manjil Basumatary argued that parts of the Boro community remain dissatisfied with earlier arrangements made under the BHC, BTC and BTR agreements. He said the campaign for a separate Bodoland will continue and hinted that stronger measures could be taken in the future.
BoNSU described Thursday’s gathering as a first-phase discussion on the matter, aimed at building unity among allied organizations and plotting next steps in the push for a separate state.
