Boko’s Gohalkona Ayushman Arogya Mandir Wins National Honor
The Gohalkona Ayushman Arogya Mandir in Boko, located on the Assam–Meghalaya border, has become the first health centre in Assam to receive the 12-package National Quality Assurance Service recognition, officials said. The accolade, awarded following a national-level assessment on April 24, acknowledges the centre’s high standards across multiple core health-service areas and marks a notable achievement for the local health system.
Community Health Officer Yasmin Begum said the centre secured the recognition by demonstrating excellence across 12 key parameters, including patient care, hospital cleanliness and strict adherence to medical protocols. These measures, she added, reflect sustained efforts to raise service quality and ensure safe, reliable care for patients in the border community.
Multipurpose Worker Atanu Medhi noted that government health initiatives have been implemented diligently at the centre, resulting in compliance with the required standards. He credited the dedicated work of staff and the backing of state health programs for enabling the Mandir to meet the assessment criteria.
National-level assessors carried out a thorough inspection and engaged with residents and medical personnel during their April 24 visit, ultimately awarding the centre an overall score of 94.33 percent. The high rating underscores strong operational performance and patient-centered practices.
Local residents and health workers expressed pride and gratitude for the recognition, thanking the Assam Government for its support and saying the award will encourage continued improvement in frontline healthcare delivery.
