Unmissable Savings: Galaxy S26 Series Takes a Price Dive, Pixel 10 Series Slashes Prices Further!
Sales Update: Samsung Galaxy S26 Series and Competitive Landscape
The first full week of sales for the Samsung Galaxy S26 series has concluded, and while substantial price changes are unlikely at this stage, there has been a minor adjustment worth noting.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra remains steadfast in its pricing, maintaining its position as the most sought-after model of the trio. Similarly, the Galaxy S26+ has not seen any price fluctuations.
However, the standard Galaxy S26 has experienced a slight price reduction, dropping by $45 for the 256GB version, translating to a modest 5% discount. While not groundbreaking, this marks the first instance of a price drop. The 512GB model, on the other hand, remains unaffected. For those looking to trade in their old devices, Amazon is currently offering significant trade-in bonuses of $300, $200, and $100 for the Ultra, Plus, and standard models, respectively.
In contrast, the Google Pixel 10 series is seeing substantial price cuts. The Pixel 10 Pro XL is now available for under $1,000 for its 256GB variant and also offers a small trade-in incentive. We’re preparing a detailed comparison article that pits the S26 Ultra against the Pro XL, so stay tuned for that.
The 6.3-inch Pixel 10 Pro is positioned as a direct competitor to the Galaxy S26 and has seen a $50 decrease in price this week. While the 128GB model isn’t the best choice, the 256GB variant is competitively priced against the S26.
For budget-conscious consumers, the base Pixel 10 is worth considering as its 256GB version is now $100 cheaper than the previous week. This places it $200 under both its Pro counterpart and the Galaxy S26.
The pricing landscape is even less favorable for the Pixel 10a, whose 256GB model is only $50 less than the standard Pixel 10. Notably, the Pixel Pro models come with 16GB of RAM, while the basic version features 12GB, and the 10a is limited to 8GB. All Galaxy S26 variants include 12GB, with the exception of the 1TB Ultra model.
Shifting focus to laptops, the newly released Apple MacBook Neo is causing ripples among budget Windows laptops, pushing manufacturers to adapt. Reviews highlight that the old standard of 8GB RAM serves many users well, even for light gaming, but it does represent a limitation for the device.
The previous-generation MacBook Air, featuring the Apple M4 chip, is now available for under $1,000 for the 13.6-inch model with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. For those considering more memory, configurations are available, though they do come at a higher price.
Additionally, the recently launched MacBook Pro with a 14.2-inch display and M5 chip offers a compelling alternative, as its 512GB variant approaches the pricing of the M4 Air. Thanks to its upgraded chip and active cooling system, the Pro model proves more adequate for demanding workloads.
