Shocking Arrest: 11 Bangladeshi Nationals Captured at Border – A Stunning Development!
Joint Operation Nabs 14 Individuals Near Meghalaya Border
In a collaborative operation on Monday along Meghalaya’s international borders, law enforcement authorities successfully apprehended a total of 14 individuals, comprising 11 Bangladeshi and three Indian nationals. This operation involved the Border Security Force (BSF), Meghalaya Police, and local residents.
In South West Garo Hills, seven Bangladeshi nationals were detained by alert locals in the village of Boldamgre. These individuals were discovered to have illegally entered Indian territory. They were subsequently handed over to the Kalaichar Patrol Post police. During the operation, security forces seized a Bangladeshi passport, currency notes, mobile phones, and SIM cards from these apprehended individuals.
This successful maneuver forms part of ongoing joint endeavors by the South West Garo Hills District Police and the BSF to bolster border security measures. The involvement of local villagers, who have been instrumental in reporting suspicious activities, is pivotal to these efforts. Consequently, a case has been filed against the detained Bangladeshi nationals at Mahendraganj Police Station. According to BSF sources, these individuals had sought refuge near Baldamgiri Tinali and were attempting to travel to Assam in search of employment.
In a separate incident, vigilant troops of the 4th Battalion BSF Meghalaya apprehended four more Bangladeshi nationals, accompanied by three Indian nationals, in the Dawki area of the East Khasi Hills district. Further details regarding the circumstances of their apprehension are yet to surface.
This operation underscores the importance of coordinated efforts among security forces and local communities in maintaining regional security and curbing illegal cross-border activities.
